Thank you to everyone who showed up at the Summit this Saturday.
It was a great shot in the arm to see the number of folks paying attention to snow safety in our area. A special shout-out to those that traveled from Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Canada and other far-flung regions to attend and present.
We had just over 250 people in attendance, with the informal conversations between talks as pithy as the more formal talks happening onstage.
The lineup of speakers gave us a range of fascinating presentations, from the work of clearing with highway passes to a case study in dealing with a snowmobile accident to a survey of multiple-burial incidents to factors affecting the decision-making process to new skiing positions. (Thanks to Sky for that one.)

Rich was an excellent emcee and it was cool to see the various projects and studies people were undertaking, including local wind patterns and loading at Stevens Pass and dealing with Rockface at Alpenthal.
To all our presenters– we couldn’t have done it without you, and to all our sponsors– your support is priceless.
Thanks to AIARE, American Avalanche Association, Friends of the Northwest Avalanche Center, Backcountry Access, Ortovox, Feathered Friends, Second Ascent, Recco and Vertical World for their sponsorship, thanks to Evo Gear for the use of the store.
